what is a signature portrait session?
Many people ask me this as it's not something that a lot of photographers offer. In fact, many will bring you into the studio on the same white background as anyone else, not even move their lights so they won't 'flatter' you but just add some light and get you to stand in the same way as everyone else.
This is the exact opposite of what we are and what we do!
We are a bespoke portrait studio who offer you not a photoshoot but a portrait experience.
You bespoke portrait sessions starts from the minute I pick up the phone and have a conversation with you. How do you want to be photographed? What makes you feel confident? Do you have any favourite colours? Styles? Locations?
We tailor your shoot for you. Maybe you want a sunrise session on the beach in a floaty kaftan, maybe its a high fashion studio set-up, maybe you want to glide around your wedding venue before the big day and soak it in without your guests there. The choices are endless!
From your pre-consultation, I put a plan together and send you across tips on where to shop, what to do to get ready and can also organise a further consultation to help you pick your outfits. I source the right backdrops, props, lighting schemes together to give you the look you desire. This might mean purchasing or creating custom - whatever we need to do, we do.
When you arrive for your portrait session, we make sure you are looked after. You receive hair & make-up from an amazing Artist and they stay for your session to give you the care and attention you need. Whether that is a change in hair style, lipstick shade, making sure flyaways are tamed for your photographs or even adding air into your hair for windswept shots, we aim to make sure you are catered for and happy.
During your portrait session, I get you to bring several looks so that we can do 4 or maybe 5 set-ups. This allows you to be showcased with different facets of your personality showing. Stylish, sexy, confident, happy, whimsical. Whatever you desire! You may want one in a etherial dress and the next in a power suit for business headshots, that's completely fine. We have more that one personality and I'm here to capture it all.
After your session, I go away and retouch to your tastes before bringing you back to my studio to see your finished images. What you purchase is up to you. I can talk product options that match your desires. Once selected, those products are hand-crafted by one of the world best Printlabs and Product Manufacturers in Italy, to give you images and products that you can't obtain on the High Street. If you are having this experience, we make sure your imagery is as vivid and incredible as the rest of the session.
