urban

Whilst I was away at The Photography Show, one of the days was cancelled as it was the funeral of the Queen.

There were more than a few photographers hanging around Birmingham that day so my animal portrait mentor, the brilliant Jessica McGovern suggested that we go off and have a hands-on workshop with her in Birmingham City Centre.

These are a few of the shots I took of her dogs Bryt & Alfie, who I have spent a long time studying online so it's nice to get to photograph them in person! It was also lovely to get some tips from Jess first hand and it's the first time that I have ever shot animals in an urban environment so learning to assess my location without looking for logs, long grass or trees was a bit different!

If you wish to see some of my other portrait work, please head over to the For Pets page and find out what this is all about!

If you want to learn from the brilliant mentor that is Jess, you should definitely head over to That Photography Spot and say hi. Well worth the investment and I def feel like she is more of a friend these days than just a mentor to me.

Happy Weekend everybody!

As always, please message me to say hi or with any questions.
