I recently had the opportunity to take corporate headshots for the the We Are Doodlebug team. They are a fantastic company in Norwich who specialise in designing websites and even give you a free audit to see if their services are required.

Jon Bugg, Founder, left me this glowing review and I couldn't be more pleased.

It wasn't the easiest headshot I've taken because they were produced on two separate days over a week apart, but the backgrounds were kept the same with some tweaks to the lighting to flatter both Jon and his Operations Manager Sarah Hubbard.

Did you know that you should light men and women differently? Men tend to favour a bit of shadow to carve out their features using side lighting techniques, where women suit softer modifiers more straight on soften any lines and shadows.

A good little tip when editing is to get the company colours in Hex Codes and then whilst retouching you can use these to change the hue of the background to be on brand.

This picture below in the review is actually backlit. What do you think? It's a little different to your classic corporate headshot with a. bit more style to suit the brand. Getting Jon to lean in also gives him a more approachable air. When people are truly interested in what you are saying they lean forwards so replicating this in images alters the views perception of the subject.
