you are enough
Women are constantly bombarded with messages on a daily basis about how we should look. From the media to social media, we are constantly being told that we need to be thin, toned, and perfect. This can have a devastating impact on our self-esteem and body image and, quite frankly, is a load of BS!
We need to reject these negative messages and learn to love and accept our bodies for who they are. Bodies are bodies. They come in all shapes and sizes. They do incredible things. They let you travel the world, dance like nobodies watching and, for some of us, give life. How incredible is that?!
We need to celebrate our curves and everything in between. Our bodies are not defined by our weight or appearance, but by our strength, our power, and our resilience.
When you have a negative thought about your body, I want you to consider just a few things:
NEGATIVE SELF TALK
When you catch yourself thinking negative thoughts about your body, challenge them. Ask yourself where these thoughts are coming from and why you believe them. Once you start to challenge these thoughts, you will start to see your body in a more positive light.
SELF-CARE
Do things that make you feel good about yourself, both physically and mentally. This could include eating healthy, exercising, getting enough sleep, or spending time with loved ones.
DRESS FOR YOURSELF
Don't wear clothes that you think you should wear or that you think will make you look a certain way. Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable.
FIND YOUR TRIBE
Surround yourself with people who love and support you, regardless of your body size or shape. These people will help you to build a positive body image and to feel good about yourself.
It's not about becoming a 'perfect body' but a perfect you. Accept yourself for who you are and love your body for all that it is. Find strength and power in your curves.
I wanted to share with you a picture of sixty brilliant and beautiful women of all body types, in their undies embracing their bodies in a fountain in Italy! If you look carefully, you may even spot me.
Don't wait until it's too late. Your family and friends love you for who you are right now. You are enough. Head over to here to see women who have experienced what it means to be enough.
