you are enough

“And I said to my body softly, ‘I want to be your friend.’ It took a long breath and replied, ‘I have been waiting my whole life for this.” — Nayyirah Waheed

Why do we do this to ourselves? We all do it, or most of us do. It's not healthy, it's not good, it's just conditioning from a bye gone era.

Yes, I'm talking about acceptance of our bodies.

I personally think bodies are great, aren't they?! Mine has done some incredible things for me. It's let me dance and bend into many a shape, it's got me across the globe to some amazing places, it helped me find my soulmate and it allowed me to carry and birth our twins. It's pretty fantastic! Does it look like the ones you see on the cover of magazines? No! What's the problem here? The magazines, not me!

The average UK woman is a size 14-16. Why is this not shown?! And why do these bodies not show up in print?

This gorgeous woman is Francesca. Isn't she beautiful? When she first arrived to have her portrait taken she was shy and nervous - a lot of that was to do with her bosses wandering around and her being in underwear! However, by the end - look at that expression! She's accepting her body and so she should! She is gorgeous!!!

That's what having a portrait session should be about. It should be an experience of learning to love the skin that you are in! It's done some incredible things for you, celebrate it! Let's photograph it in all it's beauty.

If you are interested in a powerful and raw portrait session like this, then please get in touch. I am waiving my session fee so that women (and men of course) can be celebrated how they deserve to be. We can still be creative - flowers, fruit, silk scarves?! We can turn you into a Grecian sculpture if you want! The possibilities are endless!

Do you find this as empowering as I do?

As always, please message me with any questions or just to say hi! I'm always here to help!
